2019 Is There a Bear on the Prowl?

Angeles Wealth held a private dinner and discussion on October 3rd in New York City. The dinner was focused on current market volatility and whether a bear market is looming in the future. Michael Rosen, our Chief Investment Officer, began by introducing the distinctions between three different bear markets: Event Driven, Cyclical and Structural. We traveled through history, analyzing data about each of the bear markets since 1835. We then reviewed the recoveries that have been associated with these markets. After comparing historical data, Michael analyzed today’s market environment, leading indicators, signals and sentiment. It was a thoughtful discussion that provided perspective, insight and, most importantly, advice on how to be positioned as investors in today’s environment.
